DIRTY PRETTY THINGS - DIRTY PRETTY THINGS DEBUT HIT BY ILLNESS

Cult rockers DIRTY PRETTY THINGS' debut London show almost ended in disaster last night (08MAR06) when frontman CARK BARAT was struck down by a severe migraine just minutes before he was due to take to the stage. The hotly-tipped band formed by ex-LIBERTINE Barat looked certain to cancel their sold out gig at King's College when they still hadn't taken to the stage at 10.30pm - an hour after they were scheduled to appear. But drummer GARY POWELL performed an extended drum solo in a bid to placate the agitated audience, and a revived Barat took to the stage soon after and the band played an adrenaline-fuelled 45-minute set.
