DIRTY DANCING - DIRTY DANCING SELLS OUT IN RECORD TIME

The London stage musical version of DIRTY DANCING has sold out with ticket sales of GBP3 million ($5.25 million) - before the cast has even been chosen. The production, based on the 1987 movie starring PATRICK SWAYZE and JENNIFER GREY, opens at the Aldwych Theatre in the city's West End district on 24 October (06). In six weeks, tickets for the first two months of its run have already sold out. A spokesman says, "This show has become the fastest to achieve such a level of sales in such a short period of time - this is unprecedented demand." Screenwriter ELEANOR BERGSTEIN, who wrote the original film, will adapt the script for the stage.
