DIRTY DANCING - DIRTY DANCING MUSICAL BREAKS RECORD SALES

London's forthcoming DIRTY DANCING musical has become one of the fastest-selling productions ever, with the first two months selling out before the cast is finalised. The 1987 movie starring PATRICK SWAYZE and JENNIFER GREY has been adapted for the stage by original screenwriter ELEANOR BERGSTEIN, and opens at London's Aldwych Theatre in October (06). The musical is set to become one of the West End's most successful stage productions - with more than $5.1 million (GBP3 million)-worth of tickets sold over the last six weeks. A ticket spokesman says, "This show has become the fastest to achieve such a level of sales in such a short period of time - this is unprecedented demand."
