CELINE DION - DION TURNS DOWN PIAF PART
Slender framed singer CELINE DION has stunned bosses at SONY PICTURES by turning down the opportunity play EDITH PIAF in a film about the legendary French singer's life.
Canadian Celine, who hit the world's heart strings with her rendition of MY HEART WILL GO ON as the theme tune to hit flick TITANIC, discussed her acting dreams with movie moguls recently, but has decided the role offered is too high-profile to launch her career on the big screen.
A source says, "They offered her the role on the spot but she doesn't want the pressure of carrying a big film from the start, like MARIAH CAREY did with the mega-flop GLITTER.
"Instead she wants to build a film career gradually, taking smaller roles in quality productions."
