ALLY MCBEAL - DE ROSSI SHOCKED GRANDMOTHER WITH LESBIAN ADMISSION

Former ALLY MCBEAL star PORTIA DE ROSSI shocked her 99-year-old grandmother by revealing she was in a lesbian relationship with talk show host ELLEN DeGENERES, because her grandmother thought they were platonic housemates. The actress recently came out to her mother after the her relationship with the talk show host was made public, and asked her to explain the situation to her grandmother, who lives in Melbourne, Australia. De Rossi explains, "My grandmother knows every actor, every TV personality who has ever lived. "My mom had met Ellen and spent time with us. I told her to show my grandma photos of me and Ellen and to kind of tell her for me. "So she went back, showed her photos and said that we lived together, so I thought it was done. "When I told my grandma, she was completely surprised. I then turned to my mother and said, 'I thought you told her.' "And Granny said, 'I knew you were living with Ellen and all this time I was thinking, 'I hope that lesbian isn't hitting on my granddaughter!'"
