FRANK SINATRA - DE NIRO'S SECRET NEW YORK, NEW YORK SESSION

Musical maestros FRED EBB and JOHN KANDER have revealed they had a secret third partner while they were writing FRANK SINATRA classic NEW YORK, NEW YORK - ROBERT DE NIRO.

The TAXI DRIVER star helped the duo write the tune for his 1977 movie of the same name, in which he starred alongside LIZA MINNELLI.

And De Niro even taped a version that is rarely heard.

Ebb says, "He did record a demo version, which was not used in the final cut."
