KORN frontman JONATHAN DAVIS is glad guitarist BRIAN 'HEAD' WELCH quit the band in February (05), as his melancholy vibes were bringing his bandmates down.
Welch left the HERE TO STAY rockers because he began to find himself at odds with the band's ideals and morality, after becoming a born-again Christian.
And Welch's lifestyle has changed so dramatically since his life-changing decision, singer Davis has not seen him since he walked out on his bandmates.
Davis says, "He and I have differences in how we live our lives. Some of the other guys have spoken to him, but that was early on.
"I think it has been one of the best things to happen to the band in a long time. Head just wasn't happy with being in Korn anymore - he didn't like spending time touring and it became a pain in the a**."
Welch's inner conflict caused him to become dependant on alcohol, and Davis is glad his decision to quit has brought happiness into his life.
He adds, "He was very depressed and we knew he had problems with alcohol. When someone is around you feeling depressed 24/7 and is f**ked up and unhappy, it spreads through the whole band.
"Now he's happy in his life and is feeling good, we are too."
Welch has since adopted 212 Indian children after founding an orphanage, called the Head Home, in Baligeria.
