DAVE CLARK FIVE - DAVE CLARK FIVE SINGER HOSPITALISED

Former DAVE CLARK FIVE singer MIKE SMITH is in a critical condition after falling at his home in Spain.

The GLAD ALL OVER star suffered a spinal injury in the tumble on Saturday (13SEP03). He is currently fighting for his life in a Spanish hospital.

Smith's band - which split in 1970 - were championed by the British press in the mid-sixties as the most serious threat to THE BEATLES, after their single knocked the Fab Four's I WANNA HOLD YOUR HAND off the top of the charts.
