DARYL HANNAH - DARYL HANNAH LAUNCHES GREEN TV SHOW

Screen star DARYL HANNAH is shooting a new TV show about saving the environment.

The SPLASH actress is devoting her energy to green issues and getting close to nature and hopes to raise awareness amongst American TV viewers.

Hannah says "It's somewhere between a lifestyle show and a NIGELLA LAWSON (English cook)-type thing and it's all about what you can do to change the world.

"We look at alternative sources of power, running a car on climate-friendly fuel, organic gardening, responsible cooking and holidays in eco resorts."

A vegetarian since the age of seven, 44-year-old Hannah also practices her environmentally-friendly ways at home, including growing her own vegetables. "I grow my own tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, spinach, garlic, onions and corn, and I don't have to go out to the supermarket very often.

"I run my car on biodiesel, which gives off no pollutants or greenhouse gases, and I produce my own honey."
