    • Former ALLY McBEAL star DAME EDNA EVERAGE is set to show off her operatic skills at New York's Metropolitan Opera's New Year's Eve gala on 31 December (04).

    Australian funnyman BARRY HUMPHRIES' alter-ego will make a oneoff appearance in the cast of ROSSINI's comic opera IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA (THE BARBER OF SEVILLE).

    The bespectacled Australian will sing during the "music lesson scene" in act II opposite KATARINA KARNEUS and MATTHEW POLENZANI.
