Gorgeous actress ELISHA CUTHBERT finds being recognised disconcerting - because her fans always call out the name of her character in TV smash 24.

The 21-year-old rocketed to fame following her role as KIM BAUER in the hit American TV series, but is still getting used to not being known by her real moniker.

Cuthbert, who stars as a porn actress in THE GIRL NEXT DOOR, says, "I mean I don't feel like MADONNA but I do get recognised sometimes.

"It's difficult when someone screams out, 'Hey Kim,' and I turn around, that's really scary. It just lets me know I'm really in character all the time because of the amount of work we put into it.

"It's kind of wild to think that I can respond to a different name but it's great, because without that I probably wouldn't be here now, it's made a nice place for me."

Cuthbert also let slip the possibility of a fifth series of 24 going before the cameras.

She says, "I don't know when they're going to announce that, I think KIEFER (SUTHERLAND) is coming back. I hope so, if he does then we all get to come back."
