PENELOPE CRUZ - CRUZ DESPERATE TO GET CRUISE BACK

Spanish siren PENELOPE CRUZ is desperate to get ex-boyfriend TOM CRUISE back - after realising her desire to become a top Hollywood actress was to blame for their split.

The sexy star has spent months in the African desert filming new movie SAHARA - and has reportedly told the film's crew she's willing to do whatever it takes to reconcile with Cruise, who she split with in January (04).

An on-set source says, "Penelope is still deeply in love with Tom and believes he feels the same way about her but cannot cope with her excessive demands.

"She feels she has seen the light and will get him back when he realises how much she blames herself for the break up."

The actress has also denied rumours she was romancing co-star MATTHEW McCONAUGHEY on the set of the movie.

The source adds, "Tom knows the rumours of her romance with Matthew are nonsense and Penelope is determined to spell that out to him all over again."
