TOM CRUISE - CRUISE LAWYERS DEMAND NEWSPAPER RETRACTION

Movie hunk TOM CRUISE's lawyers have threatened to sue British newspaper THE INDEPENDENT - over quotes made about the actor's work on movie EYES WIDE SHUT.

The MINORITY REPORT star is reportedly furious the publication ran quotes from drama coach SUSAN BATSON, who told the paper she had assisted both Cruise and ex-wife KIDMAN to "give a convincing sexual performance" in the movie.

Cruise's attorneys have demanded a retraction and told the newspaper it was Kidman, not her then-husband, who worked with Batson.

The Hollywood superstar is well-known for launching legal action against any media source which prints inaccurate articles about his private life, especially where his sexuality is in question.
