MICHAEL CRICHTON - CRICHTON.S BIG PAYOUT TO EX.WIFE

Author MICHAEL CRICHTON has agreed a $30 million (GBP20 million) divorce settlement for his wife ANNE-MARIE.

The best-selling writer and creator of ER handed over the huge sum after splitting with his spouse of 13 years.

However, he insisted on keeping two rugs and rusting trucks - while she received their New York apartment, Hawaii estate, 20 horses and fine art by LICHTENSTEIN and MAGRITTE.

Crichton has his most treasured possessions, however: rights to his ER show, the JURASSIC PARK films and a two-book deal with HARPER COLLINS worth $20 million (GBP13 million) each.

The settlement reads, "The sum of $31,000,000 shall be paid to Anne-Marie by certified cheque or wire transfer to her banking account."

The former couple will also share joint custody of their daughter TAYLOR, 15.
