COURTNEY LOVE - COURTNEY'S PALS OFFER THEIR SUPPORT

COURTNEY LOVE's celebrity pals are coming out in support for the troubled rocker following her Wednesday night (17MAR04) arrest for allegedly bashing a fan with a microphone stand.

Former CULTURE CLUB frontman BOY GEORGE - who attended Love's two successive New York shows at PLAID and BOWERY BALLROOM on Wednesday and Thursday (18MAR04) respectively - insists the unnamed unruly fan got what he deserved when the rocker accidentally struck him.

He says, "He asked for it. He was pulling her. You don't go into a mosh-pit and then start to complain if you get been hit. It's a bit like going to a MARILYN MANSON gig and saying you got a headache."

And BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN's sidekick STEVEN VAN ZANT, who was at the Bowery show, says, "From the sound of it, it was just something silly and accidental. They're looking for things to happen."
