    • American rock chick COURTNEY LOVE is close to signing a new record contract with VIRGIN.

    The former HOLE frontwoman is currently in France writing material for her first solo album AMERICA'S SWEETHEART.

    According to sources the EMI-owned label are favourites to release the LP.

    Love recently cancelled festival dates in Britain this summer (03) so she could spend more time on the album.
