COURTNEY LOVE is laughing at claims she's about to lose custody of her daughter FRANCES BEAN - because the 11-year-old is one of the most well-balanced children she knows.

The troubled rocker, who is currently facing drug possession and assault charges in Los Angeles and New York, is bemused by stories her legal problems might cost her permanent custody of her daughter.

Love says, "My daughter is an incredibly grounded, normal human being. She's not going to grow up cussing and not knowing linguistics. She knows what a pronoun is.

"She's popular, she's one of the top three riders in LA county - her and KATHERINE SCHWARZENEGGER. I think she kicked Katherine's a** in dressage recently."

Frances Bean - daughter of NIRVANA rocker KURT COBAIN, who committed suicide in 1994 - reportedly witnessed one of her mother's recent overdose.

Legal authorities have temporarily insisted that Love's former stepfather FRANK RODRIGUEZ should look after the child.
