Rocker COURTNEY LOVE has recorded a new version of KIM CARNES' 1981 hit BETTE DAVIS EYES for an upcoming solo album.

The former HOLE singer has reportedly recorded 28 songs for the new project, tentatively called AMERICA'S SWEETHEART.

Love, who was recently released from her contract with UNIVERSAL, is shopping the album to labels and hopes to release her solo debut in September (03).

GWYNETH PALTROW also scored a hit with Bette Davis Eyes after performing it in the movie DUETS.
