Hollywood star KEVIN COSTNER received death threats while starring in controversial drama JFK.
The OPEN RANGE director knew the film, a theory about the 22 November 1963 assassination of American president JOHN F KENNEDY, would cause friction, but didn't expect to receive such chilling warnings.
Costner recalls, "I even got death threats.
"I felt that it was an honest movie, I didn't feel it was dishonest. I feel the movie altered America forever and was worth making."
