Actor STEVE COOGAN has rubbished reports former SPICE GIRL VICTORIA BECKHAM will be starring in ALAN PARTRIDGE: THE MOVIE.

Coogan, who has played the cringe-inducing radio DJ in two British TV series, dismissed the claims as "fiction", because he hasn't considered Beckham for a role yet.

He fumes, "Utter rubbish. The first I heard of that was when I read it in the tabloids.

"We haven't even written the thing yet."

The movie is scheduled to hit cinemas early 2007.
