Hollywood heart-throb COLIN FARRELL has made his musical debut - singing a cover of a CLASH hit on the soundtrack of his new movie.

Tinseltown's new pretender recorded I FOUGHT THE LAW (AND THE LAW WON) - a hit for the British rockers in 1979 - to accompany new independent Irish movie INTERMISSION.

And it seems the young star's talents don't stop at acting.

An insider says, "Colin's a bit of a punk rocker. He makes a pretty good stab at I Fought The Law."

Irishman Farrell - currently appearing in THE RECRUIT with AL PACINO - says of the film, shot in Dublin last summer (02), "It's a brilliant script.

"It's about love and the pursuit of love. It's violent, funny and smart."
