GEORGE CLOONEY - CLOONEY SWEARS OFF POLITICS AFTER FILMING IN WASHINGTON

GEORGE CLOONEY has given up on dreams of becoming a politician after spending almost four months in Washington DC filming TV drama K STREET.
The movie star, whose news anchor father NICK is a wannabe US congressman, filmed the critically-acclaimed semi-reality show in the corridors of power and came to the conclusion that politics isn't for him.
He says, "If there was ever a moment when I was entertaining the idea, spending three and a half months in DC tells you everything you need to know about why you would never go into politics.
"There are so many compromises that go into anything that's important. I understand the process; I know that, in order to get an appropriations bill through, you have to make a deal.
"(Anyway), I have slept with too many, drunk too many, and I've swallowed the bong water. I'd have to run on the `Yeah, I did it' ticket."
Clooney respects pal ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER's decision to become the Governor of California, although he's fervently opposed to his politics - but he'd never run against him.
He adds, "I disagree with him politically and voted against him, but I don't know how you solve California's many problems, I think the state needs a real shake-up."
