British comedian JOHN CLEESE sees no point in buying smart clothes - because he's certain he'll die too soon to get the most use out of them.

The A FISH CALLED WANDA star admits he's a big fan of dressing down - and he has no intention of changing his style.

He says, "I'm a slob! It's in my genes - that's why I love California.

"I'm gonna be dead soon so why buy a beautiful suit that's gonna cost several hundred dollars, and then three days later you're dead?"
