THE OMEN - CHURCH ATTACKS THE OMEN REMAKE
The remake of 1976 classic horror THE OMEN has sparked a scathing attack from the UK church it was originally filmed at. The movie, which follows devil incarnate DAMIEN, the young son of a US ambassador, was originally partly shot at England's Guildford Cathedral. One scene sees Damien hysterically biting his mother to prevent the family entering the church and, on its release, left some local residents terrified of visiting the location. And now the cathedral's dean, VICTOR STOCK, is worried movie-maker JOHN MOORE's new version may provoke a similar response. He says, "It (the original) was a disaster, it should never have been done. People who were a bit thick were frightened to come into the building. "I'm not sure if everyone is that clued up about fact or fiction. The clergy at the time were not very savvy about culture that everyone else took for granted. "With hindsight, it has been a mistake".
