CHRISTINA AGUILERA - CHRISTINA CONFRONTS SHARON

Pop superstar CHRISTINA AGUILERA confronted SHARON OSBOURNE last week (ends13FEB04), for comparing her singing to "fingernails on a chalkboard".

The pair had travelled separately to attend the opening night of SIR ELTON JOHN's Las Vegas show and bumped into the DIRRTY singer at the after-party, who immediately confronted the rock matriarch about the vicious comments she and daughter KELLY made about her 2000 Yuletide album MY KIND OF CHRISTMAS on their hit reality show THE OSBOURNES.

Sharon says, "We didn't have a b**ch fight but we did have an altercation. We definitely had a serious chat because she came up to me and she said, 'So, you think my voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard, huh?' And I'm like, 'Yeah.'

"She obviously was very upset because I said it on national TV. I can understand the way she felt because she's only a kid and it must be humiliating to hear that somebody thinks that you're like fingers on a chalkboard.

"But I said to her, 'Not everybody likes everything and when you're in the position you're in, not everybody can love you and not everybody hates you. You're amazing, but that one particular album I just did not like. And what do you care anyway? I think it doesn't make any difference to you.'

"She told me that she was very, very upset about it and I apologised if I hurt her feelings, but I must say, Christina, you know you're amazing and you know how talented you are, and what little old me thinks of your old Christmas album that you did two or three years ago is of no consequence. Just get on with your life and don't be so angry! You've got too much going for you."
