Pop diva CHRISTINA AGUILERA's latest video is so raunchy that MTV have instructed her to tone it down.

The sexy chanteuse, 22, has reteamed with director and photographer DAVID LA CHAPPELLE - who stunned fans by filming Aguilera writhing around and dressed in skimpy attire for the hit song DIRRTY.

And according to reports the new video - CAN'T KEEP US DOWN - is even more risque, leading MTV to ask for cuts before agreeing to screen it.

According to American website PAGE SIX, MTV was particularly offended by a scene in which Aguilera plays suggestively with a water hose. A source says Aguilera is livid because she believes a male performer would not be censored.

A spokeswoman for Aguilera explains, "She doesn't say that a male performer would get away with it, but she does feel that there are double standards and she's upset that MTV wants to censor her."

A representative for MTV confirms it requested cuts to both visuals and lyrics, adding that La Chappelle and Aguilera had bowed to the demands.

The rep says, "MTV has a standards department like any other network. We asked them to make changes and they did it. The video will air."

Aguilera's spokesperson however, says negotiations are still under way - adding that fans can see the unedited video at the singer's website.
