Veteran crooner TONY CHRISTIE has maintained his iron grip on the UK singles chart for a sixth consecutive week - holding off ELVIS PRESLEY, Bodyrockers and NINE INCH NAILS.

The re-issue of 1971 classic (IS THIS THE WAY TO) AMARILLO saw off competition from ELVIS PRESLEY's WAY DOWN which entered the chart at number two.

BODYROCKERS entered the chart at number three with I LIKE THE WAY and NINE INCH NAILS scored a top ten hit with THE HAND THAT FEEDS, while WILL SMITH'S SWITCH climbed one place to number four.

In the British album chart, AKON climbed one place with his long player TROUBLE wrestling top spot from BASSMENT JAXX, whose THE SINGLES compilation dropped one position to number two.

Following the success of their current single SOMEWHERE ELSE, RAZORLIGHT's album UP ALL NIGHT re-entered the album chart at number five.
