PRETENDERS - CHRISSIE HYNDE ON THE STATE OF THE WORLD TODAY

Outspoken PRETENDERS frontwoman CHRISSIE HYNDE has slated the way people treat each other.

The HYMN TO HER singer claims everyone is looking to attack her because they want to make her out to be a hypocrite.

She says, "If I had a dime for everytime someone found out I was a vegetarian and what's the first thing they do? They look to see if I'm wearing leather shoes. You think that they're bowing out of respect but they're not, they're checking to see if you're a hypocrite because they want you to be one.

"Everyone wants to bend over, pick up a rock and chuck it at someone. Everyone wants someone lower than they are - so they can talk about them, so they can criticise them, so they can judge them. We're not looking for decency and the chance to admire someone.

"That's not the age we're living in."
