MIRAMAX - CHICAGO TEAM TAKE ON THE YANKEES
MIRAMAX movie mogul HARVEY WEINSTEIN is hoping recreated the monster success of multi-OSCAR winning CHICAGO - by following it up with a movie version of Broadway musical DAMN YANKEES.
Weinstein is calling on Chicago executive producers NEIL MERON and CRAIG ZADAN to turn their hands to the baseball musical - which was a TONY-award winner back in 1955.
Damn Yankees focuses on a man who makes a deal with the devil to help his team thwart Baseball giants NEW YORK YANKEES.
The original production starred JERRY LEWIS as the devil.
