Country star KENNY CHESNEY has stunned the US album charts by beating rapper 50 CENT to the top.

Chesney's new album THE ROAD + THE RADIO sold a staggering 469,000 copies to claim the new number one spot - 150,000 copies more than 50 Cent's GET RICH OR DIE TRYIN' soundtrack, which debuts at number two on the new chart.

Other big debuts this week include NEIL DIAMOND's 12 SONGS, which crashes in at number four with 93,000 sales and soul duo FLOETRY's FLO'OLOGY debuts at number seven with 77,000 sales.
