Welsh warbler CHARLOTTE CHURCH was "gutted" when she missed out on a starring role in the HARRY POTTER films - because she was too old.
The tearaway teen was vying for the chance to play HERMIONE GRANGER, Harry's female friend at wizard school HOGWARTS, but despite begging her agents to secure the role for her, the PIE JESU opera singer was told she was too old.
Distraught Charlotte recalls, "They approached WARNER BROTHERS but they said I was too old. I was 13 at the time and they needed someone about 11. I was gutted."
