    • Troublesome choir singer CHARLOTTE CHURCH is in talks to play the lead in a film version of popular stage musical THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA.

    Director JOEL SCHUMACHER has been studiously listening to the 17-year-old's operatic albums to see if her voice is suitable for the prized part.

    The PHONE BOOTH filmmaker expanded, "I think Charlotte would be an interesting choice. She is obviously not the only runner in the race for this particular part but she does have a lovely voice."
