MARIAH CAREY - CAREY AND MICHAEL TO DUET

Pop superstars MARIAH CAREY and GEORGE MICHAEL are in talks to record a duet together.

The singers met backstage at the London Live 8 gig in July (02JUL05) and Carey was delighted when Michael asked her to collaborate with him.

A music industry source says, "This is a very big deal. George doesn't do many duets, they're usually with big legends like (SIR) ELTON JOHN and ARETHA FRANKLIN, but he loves Mariah's work."

Michael's last high-profile duet, AS, with MARY J BLIGE was a huge hit in 1999.
