Movie star GARY BUSEY is fighting to save his Malibu, California home after allegedly falling behind on his rent.

The BIG WEDNESDAY star's landlord ROBERT WESSEN claims Busey has fallen behind on his $6,000 (GBP3,300)-per-month rent, to the tune of $22,000 (GBP12,200).

In legal papers obtained by American scandal show CELEBRITY JUSTICE, Wessen wants his tenant to pay up or move out.

Busey's attorney VICKI ROBERTS admits Busey is behind on his rent, but insists that's because he's fighting to get the place he has called home for the past 10 years renovated.

She explains, "There's a tremendous amount of dust and dirt and mould in the vents and the air registers.

"Gary's upset because he's had excessive breathing problems. He has nosebleeds, and he has difficulty living in the home."

Roberts claims she has sent several letters to the landlord demanding he fix the problems but claims he didn't, and so Busey stopped paying his rent.

Wessen's attorney claims his client has attempted to evict him four times in the past.
