BLACK EYED PEAS - BLACK EYED PEAS' LA NEW YEAR'S EVE PARTY CANCELLED

Organisers of Los Angeles' biggest year-end street party were forced to cancel the celebrations on New Year's Eve (31DEC05) due to torrential rain.
Acts like BLACK EYED PEAS and JUNIOR SENIOR, who were scheduled to perform at the Giant Village event, were told the bash had been cancelled after organiser DAVE DEAN consulted with Los Angeles fire chiefs and was warned staging the night-long festival would be hazardous.
More than 15,000 revellers were expected to attend the sixth annual New Year's Eve street party, which was to have taken place on a six-block stretch of Downtown.
Devastated Dean says, "The fire marshall felt not only would the rain cause a potential safety hazard to patrons, but, as well, the artists. Something terrible could have happened."
