LA CONFIDENTIAL - BASINGER EYES WILDE ROLE

LA CONFIDENTIAL actress KIM BASINGER is set to star in an adaptation of OSCAR WILDE's play LADY WINDERMERE'S FAN.

The blonde OSCAR-winner will play the lead character in BEST LAID PLANS director MIKE BARKER's take on the play.

Joining Basinger in the cast will be JOSEPH FIENNES, SCARLETT JOHANSSON and TOM WILKINSON.

The plot revolves around a scandal-hit older woman who flees New York to sail to the French Riviera in the 1930s.

Filming is due to start in August (03).
