SUM 41 - WHIBLEY DELAYS GIG FOR LAVIGNE

SUM 41 frontman DERYCK WHIBLEY delayed his New York concert by an hour last week (11OCT04) for a transatlantic phonecall with his girlfriend AVRIL LAVIGNE.

American website PAGESIX.COM reports the FAT LIP rocker, 24, paced outside Manhattan venue Rothko on his mobile phone, "talking intensely" to his alleged fiancee Lavigne, who was across the Atlantic touring Britain.

An hour after the band were due to start, Whibley finally took to the stage for the BLENDER SESSIONS gig.

The Canadian stars started dating earlier this year (04) and have reportedly bought a house together in California.
