COLLATERAL - COLLATERAL DIRECTOR CHOSE LA OVER NEW YORK FOR SETTING
COLLATERAL director MICHAEL MANN has rubbished reports he moved the film's setting from New York to Los Angeles so he could remain in his home city.
The OSCAR-nominated film-maker decided to transfer the location from America's east coast to west coast as he felt the "landscape of dreams" best encapsulates the eerie feel of the movie, which stars TOM CRUISE as a hitman.
Mann says, "I'm not interested in LA because I live there.
"I'm more interested because it's a unique landscape, the most modern and plastic landscape in America.
"It's a landscape of dreams."
