ACTOR IN SEAGAL MOVIE LANDS PAYOUT
A British actor has received a $18,000 (GBP10,000) payout after he was injured while filming a fight scene with martial arts star STEVEN SEAGAL.
SANG CAM LUI was dropped on his head after a choreographed sequence for OUT FOR A KILL went wrong. He claims he was an inch away from being paralysed and has since suffered exhaustion, blurred vision, loss of appetite and muscle pains.
Before the accident, Seagal promised to treat Lui "like his own child" after he complained he was being ordered around like a stuntman, rather than an actor.
After the incident, Lui, 32, was offered $270 (GBP150) before he flew back to London without any medical treatment.
He says, "My doctor back in London said I had a lucky escape. If I had landed an inch over where I fell, I could have been paralysed or killed.
Los Angeles production company NU IMAGE FILMS agreed to pay Lui the compensation plus legal costs in an out-of-court settlement after he claimed he missed out on several jobs, including the chance to appear in LARA CROFT: TOMB RAIDER.
