Joaquin Phoenix stars (and sings) as Johnny Cash and Reese Witherspoon
stars (and sings) as June Carter in WALK THE LINE, the true story of an
honest sound that became a revolution, a man who became an icon, and a love
that saved him from destruction. Developed for seven years with the cooperation of Johnny Cash and June Carter, WALK THE LINE focuses on the period in the mid-fifties when rock-and-roll exploded from a tiny studio in Memphis, Tennessee and follows Cash's meteoric rise to fame, culminating with his historic concert at Folsom Prison in 1968. In the most volatile period of his life, he evolved from a self-destructive pop star into the iconic "Man in Black" - facing down his demons, fighting for the love that would raise him up, and learning how to walk the razor-thin line between destruction and redemption.
One film that has Oscar written all over it. A stupendous film! Joaquin Phoenix gives the best performance of his career! - Chicago Sun-Times
The only movie I've seen three times this year - and I'd happily watch it again and again - New York Post
Walk the Line is a staggeringly good film. As Cash and June Carter cash, Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon give career-defining performances. Both deserve to win every award going. I can't recommend it strongly enough - GQ

I totally loved the movie esp.Joaquin and I hope that he gets a Golden Globe
award and best actor nod. I know that Reese did a great job but he should be
recognized more than she since he had much more pressure on him than she did
because Johnny Cash was such a music icon. Great article from Sarah Bunting of
MSNBC all fans should read.
I feel as though Joaquin and I are soulmates. All the stories I read about him
remind me a little of myself. His insecurity about himself, how he only likes
to be photographed from one side, his neck problems, and his lack of confidence
about his abilities to be just as good or better than some of the other actors
already so conceited about themselves. I think he is a brilliant actor and can
do anything he wants and be successful, if only he tries and not cries. I am
rooting for him to win an Acaddmy Award for Walk The Line. He doesn't have to
act goofy even though he claims that he is, again I think that is because he
doesn't think he is good enough. I have deep feelings for him because he
inadvertantly has helped me get past the loss of someone who was very dear to
me.
