Travis
Selfish Jean
July 9th

Travis release their new single, Selfish Jean, on July 9th 2007. A rollicking ride atop Motown bass and wide-open 'Spector' drums, Selfish Jean is the second single from Travis' resurgent new album The Boy With No Name.

A barbed song about broken friendships - "The perfect combination of good etiquette and charm, you keep the chocolate biscuits wired to a car alarm" - Selfish Jean bounds along with a chiming lead guitar, and is delivered with Travis's unmistakably breezy charm. An instant live favourite it has been rapturously received on Travis' return to the stage this spring, and proved an arresting opener for their recent appearance on 'Later'.

With a new track You Bring Me Down on the b-side, the single will be available on CD and two 7" Vinyl collectors editions.

Having long been regarded as the trailblazers for the emotionally engaging pop anthem, The Boy With No Name sees Travis fall in love with pop once more. Fans and critics alike have embraced the new album, and from the warm ambience of Closer to the menacing harmony of Big Chair, the songs here carry a direct lineage from The Man Who through to their present day contemporaries.
