Take This Heart

Texas-based four-piece IV Thieves follow the release of their debut three-track EP 'Day Is A Downer' with mighty new single 'Take This Heart', and debut album, 'If You Can't Escape My Pretty.' both released in February on One Little Indian Records. 'Take This Heart' was written by one of the three vocalists in the band, Glynn Wedgwood, and features himself and Nic Armstrong trading vocals throughout.
Finding an emotive midpoint between The Coral and The La's, the well-crafted classicism on display may sound familiar - no surprise, since IV Thieves used to be Nic Armstrong And The Thieves, whose critically acclaimed album 'The Greatest White Liar' earned them support slots with Oasis, Razorlight and Paul Weller in 2005. Noel Gallagher was so blown away he hand-picked them to support Oasis at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium last December - in front of 60,000 people.
But it's not just the name that's changed. Where The Greatest White Liar relied on Cavern Club backbeats and retro flourishes, the new album is a far more mature and nuanced affair, eschewing the raucous hollering in favour of rich atmospheres and contemplative lyrics.
IV Thieves are:
Nic Armstrong- vocals, guitar, Shane Lawlor - vocals, bass, Glynn Wedgewood - vocals, guitar, Elliot Frazier - drums
