The Wombats release their next single 'Moving To New York' on 14th January 2008 on 14th Floor Records. Moving To New York is the first to follow the release of their debut album The Wombats Proudly present...A Guide to Love, Loss and Desperation.

'Moving To New York' is a song that sums up The Wombats ethos of writing infectiously catchy and scuzzy indie-pop songs, served with an acid-wit that masks dark lyrical undertones of romantic despair and heartache. The track will be backed with the band's version of Bryan Adams' ‘Everything I Do I Do It For You', and a diverse range of remixes that include a stunning re-working by the legendary Paul Van Dyk, a beautifully epic remix by new upstarts Kyte and a dance-floor killer by electronic act The Touch.

2007 has been an incredible year for The Wombats. Starting the year back in February as the first unsigned band ever to sell out the 1,200 capacity Liverpool Carling Academy, the band have toured tirelessly ever since. In the second half of the year alone they completed a 53-date headline tour, co-headlined a tour with The Holloways, and supported The Enemy on the NME Rock'n'Roll Riot tour. They also managed to fit in a series of dates in the US, as well as festival appearances at Fuji Rocks, Glastonbury, V Festival, Get Loaded in the Park and Bestival.

The Wombats are Matthew Murphy (vocals, guitar, keyboard), Tord Overland Knudsen (bass, vocals) and Dan Haggis (drums, vocals).
