The White Stripes release their new single 'Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground' on Monday the 2nd of September 2002. The single features brand new versions of 'Suzy Lee' and the band's cover version of Robert Johnson's 'Stop Breaking Down', which were recorded for Radio 1's Evening Session. Jack and Meg White will be playing 4 co-headlining US shows in August with The Strokes. The White Stripes' much anticipated return to these shores will take place at the end of August for the Carling Weekend and Gig On The Green dates: Friday 23rd of August - Carling Weekend, Reading
The DVD features the band's new video for 'Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground', shot in London and directed by Michel Gondry, who also directed the band's groundbreaking video for their last single 'Fell In Love With A Girl', which has recently been nominated for 4 VMA Awards (MTV's Video Music Awards), and an interview with the band's long time family friend and former manager/current consultant Arthur P. Dottweiler. 'Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground' is available on CD (XLS 148CD), 7" (XLS 148) and DVD (XLS 148DVD). The tracklisting for the single is as follows: CD 1.
