South London's premier purveyors of Victorian funk, The Shortwave Set, release their new single, Repeat To Fade, on January 23rd 2006.. Available through all discerning record stores, the single will be backed by two new unreleased tracks and will be available on 10" and CD. Repeat To Fade is taken from the bands debut album, The Debt Collection, which was released in July to much critical acclaim.

The third single to be lifted from their debut album, following the release of Is It Any Wonder in April and Slingshot in July, Repeat To Fade is a beguiling and off kilter affair. Recalling the delights of anything from The Left Banke through Serge Gainsbourg via St Etienne, it's gentle yet slightly deranged charms are sure to compound the bands already growing enigmatic reputation.

The debut album, made in a front room from an assortment of Deptford market junk and 50p charity shop records clumsily fed into a dilapidated laptop, is a kitchen sink masterpiece proffering tales of drunken evenings in grubby pubs and morning afters spent in hang over hazes.

The Shortwave Set are: Andrew Petitt (vocals / guitar), Ulrika Bjorsne (vocals / guitar) and David Farrell (electronic stuff / strange noises)
