The Shining have launched their brand new
website.
To celebrate the launch of theshiningare.com the band are
streaming
two full previously unheard tracks from their forthcoming album
True Skies for a limited time only on the site.
In addition to this we also have some live video
footage
of their next single I Wonder How
The
footage was shot at the band's sold out debut London Gig at Kings
College in April.
The site is based on a pirate TV station primarily consisting of
9 active channels (Including 'Sight & Sound', 'Gallery',
'Live'
and 'Story so far'), but as there are 99 to choose from who knows
where you might end up if you input the wrong digit.
In other news, The Shining have announced a series of live dates
to coincide with the release of the bands second single 'I Wonder
How'. The tour, starting at Peterboroughs Met Lounge on the
17th of June will take the bands pulsating brand of rock and soul
around the country before finishing off with a date at this years
Glastonbury festival on June 29th.
Released on June 24th 2002 by Zuma Recordings, 'I Wonder How' is
the first full release from The Shining. The single, produced by
Youth, is released on two formats, CD and limited edition
10vinyl
and includes tracks that will not be available on the bands
forthcoming
debut album.
The Shining are Simon Jones and Simon Tong, both formerly of The
Verve and Duncan Baxter, Dan Macbean and Mark Heaney, all
previously
unknown. Whilst The Shining have inherited something of The
Verves
sonic majesty, one listen to the next single 'I Wonder How' is
enough
to demonstrate that not only is this a new band, but the second
seminal rock band that the pair have been involved in.
Swagger, granite anthem tunesmithery and heavy northern
soul.
The Shining are the U.Ks next great rock and roll
band
N.M.E.
The Shining release their debut album True Skies
later
this year.
