The Shining formed last year out of the ashes of the mighty Verve (Simon Jones Bass & Simon Tong Keyboard & guitar) also in the shining are 3 new members (Duncan Baxter Vocals, Dan Macbean Guitar & Mark Heaney Drums.)

The five piece are releasing I Wonder How as a follow up single to Quicksilver, this was a limited edition10" that was released in April and completely sold out with in a week.

I Wonder How is a great song; these guys have inherited The Verve's musical presence. I Wonder How has a slow pace and quite a "middle of the road" sound, imagine Coldplay give them some proper attitude, take away most of the depressing vocals replace them with a more soulful vocal and you will get somewhere near The Shining. Whatever type of music you maybe into, this is one of those songs that you can listen to and find enjoyable.

We sent a spy to watch them play at a gig at the Cockpit in Leeds and the boys were very impressive with a good stage presence considering the short amount of time they have been together.
