fifth studio album, 'Phrenology' with the March 31st release

the soon to be legendary Cody Chesnutt, who recently popped
up in the Strokes "Last Nite" video and whose debut
album "The Headphone Masterpiece" has been earning
rave reviews. The release of the single coincides with The
Roots' arrival on these shores for the following 3 UK dates
: March 28 - Manchester, Academy, March 29 - London, Brixton
Academy, and March 30 - Bristol, Academy.
"Phrenology" is the long awaited follow up to
1999's Things Fall Apart, which featured the Grammy Award
winning single "You Got Me.", and features guest
appearances from Jill Scott, Nelly Furtado, Musiq, Talib
Kweli, Amiri Baraka and Cody Chestnutt.
'Phrenology' will be available in 2 versions : the standard
version & a Limited Edition version incl. a Bonus DVD.
The bonus DVD contains live footage from the MTV 2 Dollar
Bill Tour from this summer, exclusive behind the scenes
material, as well as 2 rare old videos incl. the classic

The Roots have long played an integral role in the development
of the hip-hop genre, especially its live element. In a
testament to their universality, Jay-Z chose the band to
accompany him for his MTV Unplugged show and album and earlier
this year, The Roots made history with their groundbreaking
performance at the world renowned Lincoln Center, in New
York City.
