The Roots are hailed as being one the best hip-hop bands ever. If you ever get the chance to see them live please do. There’s no doubt they are very talented musicians. The band is really tight and delivery is executed to precision. ‘Don’t Say Nuthin’ is a another Roots track very much in their style. Black Thought continues to express his words with seemingly effortlessness. He always says conscience words and his delivery is relentless. There’s is creative use of rhyming skills and is well mixed with the music. The music is certainly progressive. It

has a kind of beat lazy style with lots of subtle sound effects. It’s still very much in the hip-hop vein, it’s just not your typical backing music. It’s a bit more psychedelic following on from the theme of ‘Phrenology’. ‘Web’ featured on this single is excellent. It’s just really effective bass and drums mixed with excellent MCing to create a really infectious track.

‘Don’t Say Nuthin’ is another quality single from The Roots to add their outstanding back catalogue.
