The Raveonettes are a two-piece band from Copenhagen, Denmark, and they make music as dark, fuzzed-up and shimmering as the Velvet Underground, Jesus and Mary Chain and Lush. Lust Lust Lust is their third full-length, and it combines their electro-fuzz sound, close harmony and a more mature set of songs.

Despite the album being (self) recorded without live drums or bass, the feel is not minimal - like Mazzy Star rocked up, a fuzzed-up Primitives, or a female Jesus and Mary Chain - and it steams like a train with consistent pacing and sound (the 50s surf guitar unites the songs). Sharin Foo, the lead singer, has been called one of the hottest women in rock (alongside such luminaries as Courtney Love), and she sustains the interest in what is effectively a set of demos pretty well. However, the styling leads to a certain distance from the music - it seems slightly artfully arranged to have a certain sound. If the style is one you enjoy, there aren't many better examples around.
